Students’ Alienation in OnlineLearning: A Phenomenological Study in Sociology Subject

This research aims to describe and analyze the alienation phenomenon experienced by students in dealing with online learning sociology subject. study uses a phenomenological study. The was conducted at senior high school Ponorogo Regency. technique used determine subject this is purposive sampling. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis interactive of Miles Huberman. results show that experience maladjustments use technology beyond their control hinders creativity. These conditions lead alienation. includes from productive activities, goals, fellow students, potential. Manifestations symptoms are lazy, heavy, do not want know or indifferent process. As result, affect powerlessness participation. Thus, priority (meaninglessness), actions based on value usefulness norms they already understand (normlessness), isolated (social isolation) status carried as student, (self-estrangement) activities roles.
